Since 1981, Justice Assistance has proudly honored individuals who have demonstrated exceptional dedication, service, and commitment to the justice profession and the public interest. In 1988, the award was renamed in memory of Neil J. Houston, Jr., recognizing his outstanding contributions to the fields of justice, public service, and philanthropy before his untimely passing.

Please join us for the 44th Neil J. Houston, Jr. Memorial Awards on Thursday, October 22, 2026, at the Providence Marriott Downtown, as we recognize four more Rhode Islanders whose leadership and service are making a lasting impact on justice, community, and opportunity across our state.

Sponsorship opportunities are now available. Supporting this event is a meaningful way to demonstrate your commitment to Justice Assistance’s mission while connecting with leaders, organizations, and community partners working to strengthen Rhode Island’s justice system and expand support for justice-involved individuals.

Our Community Sponsor level is reserved exclusively for nonprofit organizations, providing Rhode Island’s community-based partners with a dedicated opportunity to be recognized and celebrated.

We are proud to present this year’s award recipients:
